Art Of Aging Gracefully!!

Aging

“You have to embrace getting older”.

In our world of science, we know there are things we can do to be fit and healthy until we’re a hundred-plus years old. Sadly, our culture doesn’t yet embrace the wisdom and beauty of age. Age is not a character defect but some people think it is!

Most of us say we would like to age gracefully. But the concept seems pretty much out of our hands or in the hands of a plastic surgeon.      We say we aren’t going to take those drastic measures, but then many of us end up doing so. Why? Because we didn’t just take the simple and natural measures we could have taken daily while we were still young.

Did you know that only ONE THIRD of what controls how gracefully we will age is determined by genetics? Shocking, isn’t it?? Maybe your dad’s gray hairs that popped up at the age of 30 or your mom’s arthritis doesn’t have to be a major panic point for you after all. One third is genetics. That means there is an entire two thirds that are completely based on own choices. Keep reading to find some of the healthiest ways to approach these choices and learn how to age gracefully.

1. Get real!:

Accept the rules of life. You can’t be a kid forever, nor can you be a 20-something when you hit your 40s and 50s. Everybody knows this on some level, but many unconscious desires, hopes and frustrations occur when this reality is not accepted. In many ways, getting old is not as good as being young, but it’s life. Deal with it as cheerfully as possible.

2.Maintain and even improve your health and body:

Go to extreme lengths to become remarkably fit. Exercise vigorously on a daily basis and become a competitive athlete as well. Hard workouts will be more fun that way.

3.Develop a heightened sense of humor — and make yourself the punch line:

For example, tell people why you are too old to go trick-or-treating on Halloween. Examples: “I’d have to get another kid to chew the candy for me!”.It shows that you are ready to accept reality

4.Say Yes to SPF:

“It’s the best anti-aging product in the market” says Frank, a dermatologist from New York. It is said 90% wrinkles occur due to the sun. Apply a moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher even during winter to protect your skin from the damaging UV rays.

5. Exfoliate twice a week:

Try using an exfoliater atleast twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells and even out the skin’s surface. Using an Eye cream will also will also help to tighten the delicate skin around the eyes and reduce dark circles and puffiness.
